Looks nice. But the gold border is not solid. There are holes in it. So you can only put food on the white part. If you have sauces or juices on your plate it will spill through. Not entirely bad but I might have bought other plates had I known. (We served food with barbecue sauce ) hope this helps.These plates were very fancy, but very flimsy & thin! Was expecting a little more but good overall, didn't want to throw awayHave these for my birthday party. The sides have actual holes, which I didn't realize before (like stencil). This way people can't really overpack the plate at the buffet, so I guess it works out good for me. I set them on the table on gold charger plates. Was just beautiful.I received the 10" 25 Gold Heavy Plastic and noticed that the plates were well protected. I did not open it until today. I saw the picture and I like them. My Victorian Wedding is on June 10th! I could kick myself for not doing so. The plates are very thin and fragile. I would not dare use them for hot food and is exactly what will be served at my Wedding. The plates are only safe for cold food. I am very disappointed. I have no time to return them or to order other fancy plates. I now need to purchase plates in the supermarket. I am so upset. I ordered the small ones for the cake. They are thin too! I would advice not to purchase the large size for hot food!Really nice but the pictures is miss leading, I thought I got both size, only the received cake plate and then you didn't offer over night shipping so I could reorder for my wedding. I love them though. Exactly like in the picture.The bowl would be a good choice except for a major design flaw. The gold pattern around the top of the bowl that you see is like lace, there are holes all around so that when you have a liquid as a soup and you move the bowl the contents spill out. We had a Christmas party where guests filled the bowl and walked to where they were seated. A disaster because you can't really see the holes in the pattern at first. We ended up giving everyone coffee cups for the soup.I was pleasantly surprised with these plates. I do not, however, agree with the reviews that constantly claim that these plates are "almost like real plates." They are, in fact, quite thin, and obviously not real. But I wouldn't expect a plastic plate to look real. They do look beautiful on the table, and I am very pleased.Awesome, impressive look. Fitting for event. Plates can easily crack along the edges. Pleased with item overall.
