The variable heating is nice and the dial for the pressure of the plates is an easy enough feature. Albeit not very effective since you apply the force by hand anyway. If you would like to apply a good amount of pressure I would recommend at least a 1ton jack.It only took me a few tries to get it perfect and get a high yieldBEST SMALL PRESS ON THE MARKET,, MADE REALLY GOOD 5 STARS ALL AROUND
